The Opus Group Breaks Ground On-Campus at University of Minnesota
Aug 28, 2012
Minneapolis, MN — The Opus Group will break ground this month on the Station on Washington, a mix of retail and residential on the East Bank Campus of the University of Minnesota. Five stories of purpose-built student housing will sit atop 11,172 square feet of ground-level retail. The project will contain 97 units with 156 beds and offer a variety of room choices from studios to one-and two-bedroom units.
The new Central Corridor Light Rail connecting downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul will pass in front of the project, along Washington Avenue, providing easy-access for students.
Amenities will include private underground parking, a large fitness center, a separate study lounge space and on-site retail options. It will be ready for occupancy in August 2013.
The Architect is Opus AE Group, Inc. in collaboration with Elness Swenson Graham Architects Inc.
The University of Minnesota's student housing market is characterized by extraordinarily low vacancy, The Opus Group says in a statement.
